Tonight AWANA Clubs begin at our church. AWANA is an acronym for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed". This phrase is based on 2 Tim. 2:15. "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing (cutting Straight) the word of truth." The main focus of AWANA is the gospel. The Prayer of AWANA is that all children and youth throughout the world will come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
I am the Secretary for the Challenger Boys in the T&T (Truth and Training) Club. This is the 5th and 6th grade boys. Our grandson, Logan is in this group. The boys are energetic and ready to learn. My duties involve, taking role, recording sections, ordering awards and helping the Leaders and Directors.
This is very exciting for me. I have never worked in the children's ministry before. My prayer is that God will use me to be a positive influence on these young men and through my work, to God be the glory.
